Electricity bill terms in plain words.

kWh (kilowatt-hour)

kVA (contracted capacity)

Your connection's capacity. It affects some network charges. Most homes have 8 or 12 kVA.

Fixed fee

A monthly supplier charge independent of usage.

PSO (ΥΚΩ)

Public service obligations: a regulated charge, the same with every supplier, tiered by usage.

Renewables levy (ΕΤΜΕΑΡ)

A per-kWh levy supporting renewable energy.

Excise duty (ΕΦΚ)

The excise duty on electricity.

Final / Advance bill

A final bill uses an actual meter reading; an advance bill uses the supplier's estimate and is reconciled later.

Early-exit fee

A charge for leaving before a fixed-term contract ends.

Municipal fees and ERT

Third-party fees collected through the bill. They're the same with every supplier.
